Andreas Stradis Joins Shibumi Records as Managing Director
We are thrilled to announce that Shibumi Records has appointed Andreas Stradis, PhD as the label’s Managing Director. Andreas will be joining the company at an ideal moment, and just in the nick of time to be able to grab the helm as Shibumi slides down the slipway into the sea of global music. Steady as she goes, captain 🫡
On the topic of seas, Andreas is a member of The Atlantic Council UK, promoting constructive leadership and engagement in international affairs. He holds three masters degrees in international relations, English language and art history from LSE, Oxford and Zurich respectively. Bristol also awarded him a postdoctorate in philosophy, but, we don’t really care about any of that, because he’s a sick drum & bass DJ and producer of electronic music.

We don’t hire people based on their academic credentials (lol, honestly!). We are aware that inaccessibility to education creates an injustice, so instead, we look for passion. This is why we hired Andreas. He is a man that has never. stopped. loving. music. Against all social pressures to follow the same route as everyone else, he has brazenly kept the sprit going.
Alongside his work, Andreas is a musician, writer, tutor, yogi, and co-founder - a rare blend of thinker and doer. Whether he's guiding a retreat, producing a track, running Aletheia (his international education company), or writing about the future of global leadership, he brings the same calm focus, thoughtful presence, and collaborative spirit.
He’s no stranger to running things: Andreas has spent years leading elite tuition collectives, organising cultural initiatives, and developing community-centred wellness projects - all while keeping his musical output alive and evolving.
At Shibumi, he brings a holistic leadership style rooted in curiosity, empathy, and trust. We value that. Expect a steady hand, a sharp ear, and a human approach to leadership as we grow our label, deepen our artist support, and open up new creative frontiers.
